Abstract
Purpose: In the present study, it was researched to recognize the experience process of regimen through diet among elderly women.

Methods: The 8 participants having the experience of diet regimen were recruited by theoretical sampling. All data were collected through in-depth interview. In addition, in order to analyze the collected data, Strauss and Corbin"s approach method by grounded theory published in 1998 was employed.

Results: From the participants" statements, 82 concepts, 33 sub-categories and 13 categories were extracted by open coding process. A being acquainted with well-being (making an nutritious food and enough living) was prominent as a core category. Based on the core category analysis, the experience process of regimen through diet for the elderly was related to 4 phases which were a recognizing-phase, a meditation-phase, a strengthening-phase and a practicing-phase. The being acquainted with well-being had three types, which were a health-pursuit-style, a compromisestyle and a preference-style.

Conclusion: This findings might provide the basic information to understand the process of regimen through diet and to develop the health management program in the elderly.
